NuCAS secures former Hogan Lovells Global Chair as Strategic Adviser

Newcastle, UK — 17th March 2026 — NuCAS, the specialist provider of legal services enhanced by advanced technology across the legal ecosystem, is delighted to share the appointment of Nicholas Cheffings as Strategic Adviser to the Board. Nicholas brings worldclass legal, governance, and strategic leadership experience to support NuCAS as it expands its innovative offering.

Nicholas is widely recognised for his distinguished career in the legal sector, most notably serving as Global Chair of international law firm Hogan Lovells from 2012 to 2018.

With more than two decades at Hogan Lovells, including roles as Partner, Senior Counsel Consultant, and head of the firm’s real estate disputes team, Nicholas brings deep expertise in legal operations, leadership, and commercial strategy. His experience extends beyond private practice: he has held significant governance roles at The Crown Estate, including Interim Head of Legal, Company Secretary, Special Advisor to The Chief Executive, member of theExecutive Leadership Team and currently as a Non-Executive Board Counsellor. Nicholas is renowned for his calm, pragmatic and commercial business approach.

Nicholas is also a longstanding advocate for diversity, social mobility, and equitable access to the legal profession, having served as Chair of the British Paralympic Association’s Parallel Club, Executive Chair of PRIME Commitment, and Chair and Trustee of Making the Leap.
